Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) North Sector, in Grande Prairie, Alberta is seeking a qualified full time Anatomical / General Pathologist with a Hematopathology Fellowship or training to join the team at the New Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

While the position is primarily based at the New Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, involvement and interaction with different Edmonton hospital sites may be required. The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, with its team of 96 pathologists and many consultants, functions as a Center of Excellence. The ideal candidate will have the capacity to cover all areas of lab medicine as a General Pathologist (or AP/CP Pathologist), or an Anatomical Pathologist with Hematopathology Fellowship (or training).

The successful applicant may also be considered for an appointment with the University of Alberta in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. Teaching and interaction with a wide range of learners from undergraduate through postgraduate studies, with provision of interactive educational opportunities at all levels as well as participation in collaborative and translational research may be a part of this role, dependent on the successful candidate.

Qualifications include a MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta, and certification in Anatomical Pathology or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology as well as Hematopathology Fellowship or training.
