Anatomical or General Pathologist with Dermatopathology Fellowship

Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL is seeking a full time Dermatopathologist. Applicants with fellowship training/certification in Dermatopathology are invited to apply. APL recognizes some applicants may have more than one subspecialty training.
The successful candidate will join a team of 95+ laboratory physicians and scientists and will be part of the dermatopathology group.
APL is a multi-site, province-wide laboratory providing comprehensive laboratory services. APL (Calgary Zone) processes 30+ million tests, 260,000 surgical specimens, 200,000 gynecologic cytology specimens, and 10,000 non-gynecologic cytology specimens annually. Current Dermatopathology cases are 80,000 with half of these submitted by Dermatologist offices.
APL is an independent, but publically funded organization that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alberta Health Services (AHS), and is affiliated with the University of Calgary (UofC). The DPLM and APL offer residency training programs in Anatomic Pathology, General Pathology, Neuropathology and Medical Microbiology, as well as Fellowship training in subspecialty areas within Anatomic Pathology including Dermatopathology.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
Anatomical Pathologists must maintain the highest possible standards of practice including prompt delivery of services to match established key performance indicators and provincial metrics, must actively participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs, and must actively participate in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate medical teaching.

Qualifications
Qualifications include a MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta, and certification in Anatomic or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology as well as subspecialty Fellowship training and/or Certification in Dermatopathology.
