Alberta Health Services – North Zone, and the Department of Cardiology at the HOSPITAL, are currently looking for a Cardiologist to join their current team of Specialists and Family Medicine physicians and establish a full-time/part-time practice in the community of COMMUNITY. This position will provide services in, with a key focus on

 

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC INFORMATION

 

The successful candidate is required to offer services within the HOSPITAL NAME / and out of a community based Specialty practice, within the community of COMMUNITY.

 

The candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing independent outpatient practice or form an independent outpatient office of their own. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reside in and have as his/her primary residence within the community of COMMUNITY;
  • Establish and maintain full time community based practice within the community;
  • Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;
  • Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including full time participation in the Cardiology call schedule, as required;
  • Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies;
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Cardiology;
  • Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
  • Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care

  

Community Information:

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Alberta Practice Permit or valid CPSA Letter of Eligibility to practice in the advertised position (proof of to be included with application).
  • Have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC);
  • Recent and relevant experience (within the past XX years/XX months) in all areas of practice required, as Most Responsible Physician;
  • Have specialty certification or equivalent in Cardiology, or currently be enrolled in a Cardiology Residency Program;/ Have completed, or currently be enrolled in a Cardiology Residency Program;

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Must have Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC), or be FRCPC Eligible
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS);
