Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist - Grande Prairie
GRANDE PRAIRIE is seeking a Psychiatrist who is eligible for FRC(P) in child & adolescent psychiatry, to join a diverse Addictions & Mental Health team, providing services to communities with a high need of mental health services.

There are 28 dedicated in-patient psychiatry beds at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. )The Pediatric Unit will have an additional 5 dedicated beds for mental health patients.)
o 14 – Adult beds
o 4 – Youth beds (14-18 years)
o 4 – Geriatrics beds (60 years and up)
o 6 – Psychiatry Intensive Care beds (all ages) .
Duties include, but not limited to:
• Establish and maintain a full time community mental health based practice within Grande Prairie
• Provide hospital and on-call assistance as per call schedules
• Provide psychiatric services (beyond primary community of practice) either in-person or utilizing Tele-Medicine or another form of telecommunication, which may include but not limited to communities experiencing a high need for mental health services
• Contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities
• Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties as assigned
The successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or by opening their own practice. This is the candidate's business choice and not managed through the recruitment process.
Qualifications:
Must have experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in a rural and regional setting
- Must be FRC(P) or FRC(P) eligiblity (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada)
