About the role
Alberta Health Services (AHS), under a joint partnership with MomCare Docs Group invite applications for a Family Medicine Physician with special interest in Primary Care Obstetrics (FMOB) to join a well-established team serving patients in Edmonton’s Royal Alexandra Hospital and the Allin Clinic. As a Family Medicine Obstetrician, you will provide inpatient care as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) for patients throughout the pregnancy and for up to 6 weeks post-partum. You will manage prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care (up to six weeks postpartum) for low-risk obstetrical patients, working collaboratively with RN’s, Pharmacy, Colleagues in Obstetrics and Gynecology and NICU to support safe recovery, medical optimization, and discharge planning.
Opportunity at a Glance
Practice setting: a Blended model of inpatient and community practice
Approximate FTE/ rotation model: Coverage for inpatient care is 24 hours on one week and then working in the clinic for one day the next week.
Weekend Coverage: Weekend coverage is also required for 24 hours approximately once per month
Patient population: We serve patients who may be experiencing financial hardship and limited supports, and we value team members who bring empathy, flexibility, and a patient-centered approach

Qualifications
We are seeking collaborative, adaptable physicians who are comfortable in acute inpatient care environments and value interdisciplinary teamwork. Candidates with an interest in primary care obstetrics and a blend of inpatient and community practice are particularly well suited.
