The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS), invites applications from physicians trained in pediatric hematology/oncology for a locum position within the Division of Pediatric Immunology, Hematology/Oncology, Palliative Care and Environmental Health (iHOPE) in the Department of Pediatrics and the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
This position is up to 1.0 FTE with clinical service including outpatient clinics (Sickle Cell Clinic & General Hematology), inpatient hematology service and bedside educational activities (UME, PGME). This role would provide clinical support to existing pediatric hematology and KIDCLOT inpatient and outpatient services
The successful applicant will join the IHOPE (Immunology, Hematology, Oncology and Palliative care) division which includes five pediatric hematologists as well as multiple other pediatric oncology, immunology and palliative care subspecialists, and basic scientists. Pediatric Hematology provides a full spectrum of classical hematological services. In addition to clinical care, the division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has a fully accredited Pediatric Hematology/Oncology subspecialty training program through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The division has an active basic and clinical science research program, collaborating locally, nationally, and internationally.

WCHRI is a partnership between the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services, with core funding support from the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Alberta Women's Health Foundation. WCHRI is the only research institute in Canada and one of the few in the world to focus on women’s, children’s and perinatal health. Thanks to our funders’ generosity, WCHRI is able to provide a broad range of support to research programs, including access to funding opportunities and research support services (e.g. biostatistics, qualitative design, KT, data management, clinical trials support, grant application development). WCHRI also invests in the next generation of researchers through graduate and summer studentships, postdoctoral fellowships and funding for trainee travel /presentation of research outcomes.
Qualifications:
Interested applicants must have:
● MD degree (or equivalent)
● Completed subspecialty training in Pediatrics and subspecialty training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.

● Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
