Staff Anesthesiologists#CD# Alberta Health Services: The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) in Edmonton, Alberta are inviting applications for zone wide Anesthesiologists. A community-based team of more than 120 department members, the Department of Anesthesiology is composed of physicians, anesthetists, scientists, educators and allied health professionals who provide services to six Edmonton hospitals, and referrals from northern and western Alberta. We are a major referral centre for Northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories with a referral based of over 1.5 million people. The Anesthesiology group provides services to patients at the Cross Cancer Institute, Grey Nuns Community Hospital, Leduc Community Hospital, Misericordia Community Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital, Stollery Children's Hospital, Sturgeon Community Hospital and the University of Alberta Hospital. The Royal Alexandra Hospital is located in the heart of Edmonton and provides general and specialized medical and surgical health services. As one of Albertas largest surgical facilities, the hospital plays a lead role in the expansion and development of minimally invasive surgery, a rapidly evolving technique that helps patients heal and return to productive lives faster. Edmonton, with a growing population of over one million, is the cosmopolitan capital of Alberta. Qualifications:
The successful applicants will have or be eligible for certification in Medical Oncology with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
