Pediatric Anesthesiologist (21-STO-ANE-PED-23)
The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) in Edmonton, Alberta are inviting applications for a Pediatric Anesthesiologist position based primarily at the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
The successful applicant will be expected to apply for an Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and be willing to be involved in resident teaching and clinical research facilitation.
Highly-skilled child health professionals from around the world have made the Stollery Children's Hospital, located within the University of Alberta Hospital, a well-recognized centre for specialized pediatric services. The Stollery Children's Hospital is a full-service pediatric hospital with both a unique physical design and patient-care approach, dedicated to providing children with the best health care in Canada. It is Western Canada's referral centre for pediatric cardiac surgery and national leader in organ transplantation and is home to more than 160 physicians and 900 health care professionals. The Stollery Children's Hospital cares for children from northern and central Alberta, the Territories and the Western provinces.
A team of more than 160 department members, the Department of Anesthesiology is composed of anesthesiologists, intensivists, scientists, educators and allied health professionals who provide services to ten Edmonton hospitals.
The successful applicant shall have certification in Anesthesiology with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Completion of a Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at a recognized Pediatric center is a mandatory requirement.
The successful candidate must be in compliance with Alberta Health Services Immunization of Workers for COVID19 policy prior to their start date.
